When the largest Railway network in the world invites bids for establishment, operation and maintenance of an Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) and Regional Call Centres (RCC) it spells challenge and opportunity in a colossal way. So when the Indian railways opened its doors to technology for the establishment of an integrated Train Enquiry System (ITES) in its North, East, and West & South Zones through a Railway Enquiry Franchisee, Spanco took the lead.

Spanco won the bid in alliance with BSNL as the TSP (telecom service provider) and hence obtained the license to operate the various passenger & tourism information services on behalf of Indian Railways over the next 10 years.
