With the Indian Railways being the largest rail network in Asia, the project is as gigantic in terms of finance as it is in terms of its size. With a call volume scaling as large as over 2 Million calls per day to start with and ramping up to 5 million calls per day in 9-12 months period, and a commuter volume as vast as 600 million per year, it is no far cry that significant revenues are expected year after year.
Revenue Streams
Instead of having just a single mode of revenue, the project harnesses multiple modes of revenue by means of:
Ö Revenue sharing with the telecom operators for all incoming calls
Ö SMS revenues for various services
Ö Commission on tickets, taxis, and hotels booked through the call center
Ö Advertising revenues
Ö Outbound campaigns or new service launches
